Do I need a developer to get started?
No. Scan a QR code, and your WhatsApp Business Account is connected. The no-code console handles campaigns, inbox, automations, and AI flows without touching code. If your team wants deeper integration, the REST API and webhooks are there, but you don't need them to start sending.
How long does it take to go live?
Most teams send their first message within an hour. Connect a number via QR, import contacts, pick a template, and send. The full platform setup, automations, inbox routing, integrations, takes a day, not a quarter.
What happens to my existing WhatsApp setup when I switch?
Your WhatsApp number moves with you. Beacon handles the migration: connect your existing number, import your contact list, and your conversation history stays intact on WhatsApp's side. No downtime, no lost threads, no "we need a new number" conversation.
Is this an official Meta BSP or built on top of one?
Beacon is an independent platform, not affiliated with or endorsed by WhatsApp or Meta. You use your own WhatsApp Business Account and phone number, and we provide the tools around it, not the WhatsApp connection itself.
Do I need my own WhatsApp Business Manager?
Yes. You connect your existing WhatsApp Business Account and phone number(s) to Beacon via QR code. Multiple numbers can be connected per account. We don't provision or manage your WhatsApp account; you stay in full control.
How is the AI different from a basic chatbot?
Keyword matching is not AI. Beacon's AI builder uses RAG over your actual docs and site content, executes actions (pull order status from Shopify, update your CRM, book a meeting), and hands off to a human with the full transcript when it should. It learns from your content, not from a predefined script tree.
Is my data secure and compliant?
Yes. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Conversations are isolated per workspace. Consent state is tracked per contact with opt-in source and timestamp, defensible in an audit. HMAC-signed webhooks ensure nothing is tampered with in transit. GDPR export and erasure workflows are built in. Enterprise plans include on-premise or private cloud deployment, SSO, and advanced compliance controls.
What's the message pricing markup?
Pricing is fully custom per deal. There are no hidden markups on WhatsApp conversation fees. Tell us your volume and use case, and we'll give you exact numbers, with no calculator that guesses wrong.
What if I need help at 2am?
Agency plans include standard support with onboarding. Enterprise plans get a named technical contact and priority support. The platform also monitors session health automatically. If a WhatsApp connection drops, it reconnects and alerts you before your customers notice.
Am I locked into a contract?
No. Month-to-month on all plans. Cancel anytime, no exit fees, no "let us know 90 days in advance" clauses. Your data exports cleanly, your number stays yours.
